Night Cairo tour with Respect Egypt Tours

Feb 2026 • Friends

We had the absolute best experience with our guide, Reda. From the very beginning, she was warm, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought so much depth and context to everything we saw, but explained it in a way that was engaging and easy to understand, not overwhelming. Reda struck the perfect balance between professional and personable. She made us feel safe, taken care of, and genuinely excited to be there. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and that passion made the entire experience unforgettable. She was attentive to our questions, mindful of our pace, and always one step ahead, whether it was navigating crowds, sharing historical insight, or making sure we were comfortable. Having her as our guide elevated the entire trip. If you get the chance to tour with Reda, take it. She was simply great.

A great guide working for a great tour company

The pre-tour customer service support was the best I’ve experienced for a day trip in a dozen years of travel – highly responsive and clear – including accommodation of my late modification to the itinerary. My thanks to Nada. My guide on a private tour to the GEM and Old Cairo Museum, Laila, is young but knows her subject matter and explains things well. Often with day trip guides you can tell that they know the script but are less comfortable with broader or deeper questions. That is not true of Laila. She has put in the homework needed to know Egypt’s extensive history. She really knows her way around both museums, too, which helped maximize my time. And she has a friendly, casual style that makes her comfortable to be with for a full day. I would not hesitate to request her for another tour. Our driver, Ayman, was excellent. He called me at the hotel the day before the tour to confirm the pick up time. I’ve never had that happen on any other tour. It was a nice touch. On the drive he was good at pointing out local sections of Cairo and landmarks, and was deft at getting off the main road and cutting through a residential section to pick up our guide (it was interesting to see neighborhoods up close).

Great trip !!

Our group of four had an excellent visit to Egypt in mid January, thanks to Respect Egypt Tours. We had built a custom tour for four family members to pick us up at the airport, secure visas, get around Cairo and Luxor, take us to all the must-see sites, and generally babysit us. This tour company exceeded our expectations. Our guides were Wael in Cairo and Ahmad in Luxor, both skilled, knowledgeable and very friendly. The Respect Egypt Tour coordinator, Nada, was more attentive before and during the tour than any I have ever worked with. We highly recommend this company to all who want some hands on when they visit Egypt.

Wadi El Natrun, meaning the "Valley of Natron," refers to a valley rich in natron, a naturally occurring salt that ancient Egyptians used in the mummification process. This sacred region is also famous for its ancient Coptic monasteries and tranquil landscapes, offering visitors a journey through history and nature.

"Natron" refers to a mineral mixture of sodium carbonate and bicarbonate, found in the salt lakes of Wadi El Natrun. Ancient Egyptians treasured natron for its preservative properties, using it in religious ceremonies and mummification. This natural element adds an intriguing layer to the area's historical significance.

"Scetis," an ancient name for Wadi El Natrun, translates to "the place of the ascetics" or "desert dwellers," symbolizing the region’s deep spiritual roots. It became a refuge for early Christian monks, making it a revered site for Coptic Christianity today.

In Arabic, "wadi" means a valley or riverbed, often dry except during rainy seasons. Wadi El Natrun is a prime example, with its landscape of salt lakes, desert dunes, and hidden water sources contributing to its natural beauty and cultural significance.

The Bible refers to the "Wadi of Egypt" as a boundary or river, often associated with the eastern frontier of ancient Egypt. While interpretations vary, some scholars link it to the Nile Delta’s tributaries, highlighting Egypt’s long-standing connection to biblical history.

Respect Egypt Tours offers more than just sightseeing—we create immersive experiences guided by expert Egyptologists. With personalized itineraries, private transport, and a focus on storytelling, your journey through Wadi El Natrun and beyond will be smooth, enriching, and unforgettable.
