Itinerary

We start today by visiting the East Bank of Luxor. Our Egyptologist will meet you at the hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle to pick you up to start your amazing tour.

📍 Karnak Temple
The ancient Egyptians dedicated this vast temple complex to their gods. It features a series of temples, chapels, towers, and a large hypostyle hall with 134 massive columns.

📍 Luxor Temple
Amenhotep III built this temple and subsequent pharaohs, including Ramses II, expanded it.

📍 Valley of the Kings
This valley was the burial place of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom and contained over 60 tombs, including those of Tutankhamun and Ramses III. Visitors can explore several tombs decorated with colorful hieroglyphics and paintings.

📍 Hatshepsut Temple
Queen Hatshepsut built this temple, which is known for its unique design featuring three terraces built into the side of a cliff. The temple is dedicated to the god Amun and the goddess Hathor.

📍 Colossi of Memnon
These two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III once stood before his mortuary temple but are now the only remaining structures. The statues are over 18 meters tall and are made of quartzite.

Night Cairo tour with Respect Egypt Tours

Feb 2026 • Friends

We had the absolute best experience with our guide, Reda. From the very beginning, she was warm, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought so much depth and context to everything we saw, but explained it in a way that was engaging and easy to understand, not overwhelming. Reda struck the perfect balance between professional and personable. She made us feel safe, taken care of, and genuinely excited to be there. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and that passion made the entire experience unforgettable. She was attentive to our questions, mindful of our pace, and always one step ahead, whether it was navigating crowds, sharing historical insight, or making sure we were comfortable. Having her as our guide elevated the entire trip. If you get the chance to tour with Reda, take it. She was simply great.

A great guide working for a great tour company

The pre-tour customer service support was the best I’ve experienced for a day trip in a dozen years of travel – highly responsive and clear – including accommodation of my late modification to the itinerary. My thanks to Nada. My guide on a private tour to the GEM and Old Cairo Museum, Laila, is young but knows her subject matter and explains things well. Often with day trip guides you can tell that they know the script but are less comfortable with broader or deeper questions. That is not true of Laila. She has put in the homework needed to know Egypt’s extensive history. She really knows her way around both museums, too, which helped maximize my time. And she has a friendly, casual style that makes her comfortable to be with for a full day. I would not hesitate to request her for another tour. Our driver, Ayman, was excellent. He called me at the hotel the day before the tour to confirm the pick up time. I’ve never had that happen on any other tour. It was a nice touch. On the drive he was good at pointing out local sections of Cairo and landmarks, and was deft at getting off the main road and cutting through a residential section to pick up our guide (it was interesting to see neighborhoods up close).

Great trip !!

Our group of four had an excellent visit to Egypt in mid January, thanks to Respect Egypt Tours. We had built a custom tour for four family members to pick us up at the airport, secure visas, get around Cairo and Luxor, take us to all the must-see sites, and generally babysit us. This tour company exceeded our expectations. Our guides were Wael in Cairo and Ahmad in Luxor, both skilled, knowledgeable and very friendly. The Respect Egypt Tour coordinator, Nada, was more attentive before and during the tour than any I have ever worked with. We highly recommend this company to all who want some hands on when they visit Egypt.

Luxor earns its reputation as the "open-air museum", the world’s only temple town, or even as the world’s largest open-air museum, owing to the incredible amount of monuments that can be found there. One can explore ancient places powerfully as you don’t need to imagine it, you can feel it. From hapless Luxor to Valley of Kings, that’s every place is even like traveling physically across ancient Egypt. With Luxor, one can feel the age of the pharaohs.

The temple of Luxor is an ancient architecture that was built in reverence to the god Amun. One cannot despise such magnificent constructions as towering statues, carved decorations, and the entrance that is indeed picture-perfect. Visiting the temple during sunset or at night when it is all lit up adds a special charm to the already majestic temple.

No, Karnak and Luxor Temples are two distinct sites, each with unique features. Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious complexes, was dedicated to the gods and connected to Luxor Temple by a sacred avenue. Both temples showcase the grandeur of ancient Egypt, but each has its own story and charm.

Luxor sits in southern Egypt while the well-known Pyramids of Giza are located in the North, neighboring Cairo. It is about one or an hour on a flight and a relatively longer distance by train or car. Both places are worth a visit and give guests very diverse views of ancient Egypt.

Respect Egypt Tours goes beyond just an aircraft. We provide a special connection to Egypt, which is hard to get elsewhere. All our guides are enthusiastic about history and know how to present it creatively. From trouble-free transport to completely customized travel activities, you will experience Egypt in its best form because we plan every detail with care and warmth.

Every side of the Nile has its beauty in the city of Luxor. For instance, on the East Bank, visit the awe-inspiring temples of Karnak and Luxor which were devoted to God and were the foci of antiquities. On the West side is where you can find the Valley of the Kings, where some kings, including Tutankhamun, were buried, and also the stunning Temple of Hatshepsut. Since both banks show different aspects of Egypt’s greatness, the city of Luxor is great to visit.
